The traditional culture of the Ilocano is alive and well in Ilocos Norte. Because local artisans still practice their art, visitors are provided the rate chance of witnessing the authentic works of out crafsmen. Among the best buys are weaving material (Paoay & Sarrat), pottery & metal works (San Nicolas), Basketry (Pinili, Badoc), rattan (Adams, Marcos, Nueva Era & Pagudpud), tin smithing (Badoc), garlic (Bacarra, Badoc, Bangui, Burgos & Paoay) and tabacco (Badoc, Batac, Dingras, Marcos & Paoay). The best bargains can be found from the market vendorsm especially during their market days. Come early, though, because the vendors usually go home before lunch time.
